Q + A

Q+A

Attire?

The wedding will be outdoors and in the morning. Things like a linen dress or clean button-down with jeans will be perfect. The reception will take place at a local park's lodge. If you REALLY want to dress all snappy, I say go for it for the reception! Otherwise, wedding-day attire will do fine.

Food?

Outside the rehearsal dinner and wedding, there are lots of great places to either get some made meals or pick up food on your own (take a look at the Skagit Co-op)! The Rehearsal dinner will take place at Chukanut Manor, a local sea-food restaurant (though they have more than just seafood). We are finalizing our food vendor for the reception itself - ideally, we'll have someone that can cater to all our guests' nutritional needs. Stay tuned!

Traditions?

We get it; two grooms do make a wedding day without a clear script. Logistically, most everything is the same - rehearsal dinner, wedding, reception, all that. The wedding itself WILL be different. There's no walking down the aisle, but there is a Maypole. There's no giving away of a bride, but there will be vows and knot tying. As long as you're willing to have some fun and go along with us for this journey, we'll all do great.

Costs? (!)

Sigh - nothing's cheap these days, is it? Dutch and Jp have set aside some money to help folks with traveling to-and-from the wedding. If you're worried about lodging, reach out to us! We're booking hotel blocks that have 2 beds per room, so we may be able to pair you up with someone else to split the cost. Lastly, if you like camping, the Wedding venue (AK Alder Farm) has graciously allowed us to have guests camp on the grounds the day before-to-day-of the wedding.

I can't make the wedding!

Whether it's the travel, the time, the cost, or something else, not all guests will be able to make it to the wedding. It sucks, but we get it. Jp will be stopping in Saint Louis in May, and Dutch and Jp will be stopping in Texas in September (after the honeymoon) deliberately to give folks an easier time to visit. If you want to come visit, reach out and let us know!
